Please complete problems a - d. If you are having trouble finding the slope for c, please make an estimate since the data is not a perfect line.
Please complete problem 4 a, b, c, and d. D is more difficult so if you're stuck come prepared to class with questions.
A few friendly reminders for the quiz tomorrow:
1) Pay attention to the slope being positive or negative. Positive slopes go up from the left to the right. Negative slopes go down from the left to the right. 2) Remember that slope is rise / run. So you move up and down to find the numerator and right and left to find the denominator 3) When graphing, always plot the y-intercept first. Remember that is the point where the line crosses the y-axis. Please see below for answers to last nights homework. Some of the problems were challenging, especially # 15 and 16. If you got a different slope, remember to see if you have a proportional slope (meaning you can reduce/simplify the fraction!)
I will add a post to the examples section with instructions on how to solve certain problems. Have a great weekend! 11 a) y= 2x+2 b) y= -4x+20 c) y= 1.5x + 2 d) y = -3x + 20 12) y=4.2x+3.4 13) y=2/3 x + 5 14) y = 2x + 4 15) y = -12/5 x + 15 16) y = -6/7+ 2/7 Challenge 17) y = -2x + 6 |
